So, you’ve planned your exciting business brand photoshoot. You’re planning to utilise the bank of images to their fullest potential – but where do you get started?

It all starts with the preparation

When it comes to helping you curate your business photos for your social media, we need to plan a few things in advance to make it a success for you.

  1. Plan the locations that provide a diverse set of images. When you have a variety of locations for your photos, this means the images on your feed will look unique enough to not feel like one standalone photoshoot. We usually have a brand discussion first, so I can understand what you want to convey through your photos – such as style and personality. Then I can do the research behind the scenes for locations that are near our photoshoot that convey this. Whether it’s a bar with contemporary wallpaper and unique interiors; or a riverside spot with views across the water!
  2. Know the accessories we need for the shoot. If you are a service provider or a product maker, accessories are essential. Bringing these items with you means we can set up photos that have you in them, as well as flat lays that can be used on your social media. Something as simple as your laptop, stationery, and a coffee can be perfect for your social media channels if you are a service provider.
  3. Plan your outfits. Finally, planning a selection of outfits that are easy to change into will be particularly useful for your social media use. I tend to recommend seasonal photoshoots, to help make sure you have images that reflect the time of year you are posting. It can look a little strange having a strappy sundress in your photos when it’s winter, and vice versa! Bringing a selection of outfits means you will have the same outcome as the different locations – a unique collection of images for your feed!

How to use your brand photos on social media

Great, we’ve now got the planning covered! What do you do with your photos on social media, once you’ve received them?

Here are some unique ways to maximise the bank of images you receive!

  • Convert the images into a reel. Instagram is continuing to make their reels the most important part of their network. With this in mind, you’ll want to maximise the photos that you receive by potentially using them in a unique reel. Take a look at some examples of people in your industry and get some inspiration from them for your own creations. While videos are a great way to use reels, you can use stills to create reels too.
  • Use as a background for testimonials and quotes. Your photos can be a great backdrop for words-based posts. Consider using your reviews from clients, or even inspirational quotes for your industry.
  • Plan your grid. Social media planning tools like Planoly showcase your feed of images to help you see how best to post. This means you can make your images look their best, curated, and put together in a way that is enticing for new visitors. Think about unique ways you can plan the colours within your outfits, brand, and backdrops, to make an impact.

These are just a few tips you can use to make the most of the image gallery, but there are lots of ways you can use them when they are done in alignment with your business!
