How to have lifestyle shots for your business

How to have lifestyle shots for your business
(even if you don’t have a product)

Lifestyle images – an excellent option for business owners who want to share more detailed shots of their products that look like “real life” uses, but can you have the same when you provide a service? I often get asked by my branding clients who provide a professional service what images they can have that aren’t of themselves.

While shots of you, and the people within your business, are a great way to show personality & create a story of your business, there are other ways to share images throughout your marketing, and this is through lifestyle photographs.

Often, I work with my clients in their offices, whether home or in a corporate setting, as well as at their favourite places where appropriate, and while we take portraits, I also take these lifestyle shots to create a batch of images they can use. Here are a few of my favourites to use as inspiration for your branding photo shoot!

Working at your desk

While I love taking portraits of my clients at work, this can also be a great lifestyle shot for professional services. Your hands at the computer keyboard, your desk set up (in a perfect world!), your coffee or tea by your laptop, or your notepad at your favourite coffee shop. Close ups of these places and ways you work can provide an excellent selection of options for use across social media and even your website!

Your daily routines

Perhaps you walk the dog in your local park, or have an essential coffee before starting work, if you have a regular daily routine that keeps you going each day, documenting these can be another way to show off your business without having to be a formal business photo.

Close ups of your equipment

If you use a particular set of equipment, whether a yoga matt, laptop, telephone, or perhaps even zoom calls for your coaching, showcasing your equipment that is essential for your business are good additions to your bank of images for your business branding photos.

As you can see, there are ways to showcase your business outside of your portraits for your business, and even if you haven’t got physical products that require these lifestyle images, you can continue to showcase images that reflect those of stock images, but that are personal to you!
